British tennis star Emma Raducanu wraps up this year's campaign and has decided to continue with coach for 2026.
Raducanu reached the third round in three out of four Grand Slam events during the season.
Britain's Emma Raducanu has pulled out of her final two events this season due to the illness that has affected her over the past 10 days.
Raducanu, aged 22 was due to play in Tokyo and Hong Kong but opted to return home to regain her health before starting next year's training.
Those preparations are set to feature coach Francisco Roig, as they have agreed to work together again next season.
The tennis professional underwent blood pressure monitoring in her opening round with Ann Li in Wuhan last week and withdrew when losing 6-1 4-1 on a day with extreme humidity.
She needed once more a doctor's assessment at the Ningbo Open this week, where she was defeated in three sets to local wildcard Zhu Lin in round one.
Her movement was with clear difficulty in the final set in the match with Zhu owing to the lower back problem that has troubled her during parts of the season.
These outcomes followed a positive campaign, in which she climbed into the top 30 globally after a long gap since her previous ranking, ended with three successive defeats.
The athlete was close to victory with three match points then was defeated by Jessica Pegula in round three in Beijing last month.
Raducanu won 28 victories in the current season and made it to the semi-final round in the Washington tournament, but the highlight of her season was at the Miami event in March.
The British number one made the last eight of a premier WTA event, beating eighth seed Emma Navarro during the tournament before losing in three sets to the world number four Pegula.
She worked with trainer Mark Petchey from Miami until Wimbledon, with Francisco Roig stepping in for the US Open.
The initial agreement with the former trainer of Nadal was until the end of the season but the collaboration persists, with a training block pencilled in late this year.
The athlete revealed that her three-day trial alongside Roig after Wimbledon was like a "black ops mission" as they aimed to maintain secrecy.
She nearly succeeded to defeating top-ranked Aryna Sabalenka at their initial event as a team in Cincinnati in August.
Roig was also with Raducanu in the New York tournament, where she reached the third round then falling to Rybakina, champion at Wimbledon in 2022.
