Ever since the premiere of Campaign 4, new Dungeon Master Brennan Lee Mulligan has kept viewers on edge with extensive world-building, a colorful mix of characters, and a exciting storyline including celestial beings, evil spirits, and malevolent powers expanding in influence within the city.
Note: Key plot points for the latest installment of this adventure are included.
The Combat-Oriented Party Revealed
The latest chapter finished on a huge suspense moment and presented the first table of characters who will branch out from the primary party to begin their own adventure, distinct from the additional parties.
The combat-focused team consists of Teor (played by Travis Willingham), the agile character (the talented performer), the strong-willed figure (Whitney Moore), Wicander Halovar (Sam Riegel), and Kattigan (the actor).
The Reason for Division
With a large ensemble, it was clear from the start that keeping everyone at the same party would be unfeasible.
That’s why, the initial installments of this story serve as an Overture, weaving together the individual narratives before dividing into three smaller tables: Warriors, Schemers, and Seekers.
What Defines the Combat Party
As described by Brennan Lee Mulligan, the warrior group is for adventurers who enjoy a typically action-packed fight-heavy narrative style where diplomatic options are rare.
Upon first impression, figures such as the hesitant healer Wicander Halovar might appear out of place, but the actions of the latest installment demonstrate why these specific adventurers are ideally matched for the Soldiers table.
Why They Must Go
First, the group knows exactly where to head next after a brutal initial meeting with The Crow Keepers.
Casimir of Thjazi Fang—whose passing kicked off the campaign’s events—exploited the enemy for his own means, entering Thjazi’s hideout, striking the character, and taking all the magical artifacts to sell off.
The traitor then paid off his liabilities and fled to a Halovar stronghouse in Gormalay, Timmony, beyond Dol-Makjar, with Cyd Pridesire hot on his heels.
Character Drivers
Moreover, each member has a specific drive to leave the city the urban setting:
- Thimble, as the close ally and trusted friend, wants revenge.
- The knowledgeable figure is familiar with the northern area and cautions that it is a nasty environment.
- The warrior and The healer, having resisted his relatives’ demands to execute the target and instead rescued him, have no other options.
- Yet, their status as key figures in the influential clan could assist the group reach areas they typically wouldn’t be able to.
- Furthermore, Teor swore a unbreakable promise to The cleric for his deliverance and will now accompany him wherever.
Wanted and Hunted
Finally, all of them are hunted by the authorities that govern the setting for a range of causes, making staying in the city no longer safe:
- The agile adventurer and Kattigan are known criminals.
- The warrior and The cleric betrayed House Halovar and the horde of evil beings they are allied with.
- Teor is marked for death by House Halovar.
This means them little choice but to travel to Timmony in search of the antagonist.
