Iranian forces say they have struck a American military facility in Manama, as Iran launched missile attacks throughout the Middle East in retaliation for a large-scale and continuing offensive against it by the US and Israel.

Large columns of dark smoke were observed billowing from an vicinity near the main base of the US Navy's Fifth Fleet in Bahrain's capital, Manama. The full scale of any destruction is not yet known and the US has remained silent.

Regional Interceptions

In other parts of the Middle East, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar and the State of Kuwait - which all house US military bases - reported they have intercepted incoming projectiles in their territorial skies.

In Doha, the Qatari Ministry of Defence said it had intercepted a number of projectiles seemingly aimed at the Al Udeid Air Base, the biggest US military installation in the Middle East.

IRGC Statement

Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) stated it was attacking American facilities and interests as part of military campaign "Truthful Promise 4", in reprisal for the strikes on the Islamic Republic carried out by the United States and its ally Israel on Saturday morning.

That US-Israeli operation - initiated at around 06:15 GMT - has so far focused on sites linked to the Iranian leadership, with President Trump urging the Iranian people to rise up against the regime.

Additional Developments

In Israel, sirens were heard across the country after the Israeli military said it had detected an incoming Iranian missile barrage.

The Ministry of Defence of the United Arab Emirates announced that the nation has been subjected to a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".

"Emirati air defenses dealt with the projectiles with great effectiveness and destroyed a series of missiles," the statement continued.

Officials reported wreckage fell on a residential area in Abu Dhabi, resulting in some structural damage and the death of one civilian.

The US Air Force operates from Al Dhafra Air Base, south of Abu Dhabi, along with the UAE Air Force.
