Renowned Performer Pat Finn, Famed For Appearances in The Middle and Friends, Passes Away at Age 60.

Stateside performer Pat Finn, who was seen in popular television series such as "Friends", Seinfeld and The Middle, has succumbed at 60 years old.

The comedic improv actor passed away at his residence in LA on Monday having undergone treatment for a cancer diagnosis from 2022 onward, per news outlets.

"Pat saw everyone as a friend - only friends he had yet to meet," his loved ones stated in a message.

They continued that he had "lived his life fully - with zest and passion".

A Prolific TV Career

His debut TV appearance was on the George Wendt Show in 1995, where he appeared as the brother of the main character.

He subsequently landed a regular part on "Murphy Brown" between 1995 and 1997.

He played the part of Joe Mayo in the show Seinfeld in the late 90s, playing a party host known to delegate burdensome jobs to his guests.

During the end of the 90s and start of the 2000s, he had guest spots on numerous hit series, such as:

  • "King of Queens"
  • "Friends"
  • That '70s Show
  • "House"

His most famous role for playing the character Bill Norwood in The Middle, featuring across eight seasons between 2011 and 2018.

His film credits are It's Complicated and "Santa Paws 2".

Beyond the Screen

Outside of his acting parts, Finn was an improv performer and also taught at the Colorado university, where he was an adjunct professor.

He was a member of a comedy group of six named "Beer Shark Mice".

"He guided, supported, and advised many learners during his career and it would be difficult to find someone anywhere who has anything negative to say about him," his relatives stated.

Offering condolences, fellow actor Richard Kind said there was "no kinder, gentler, funnier, down to earth person you could encounter".

"Perpetually optimistic, assisting others to improve and be funnier. An excellent dad and person," he posted online.

Finn is remembered by his wife Donna, three children, and his mother, father, and brothers/sisters.
