President Trump revealed on the weekend that he has invited the family of a National Guard member killed last week to visit the presidential home.
He mentioned that he spoke to her parents and they were “devastated”.

US army specialist Sarah Beckstrom, twenty years old, was fatally shot in a attack on Wednesday in DC.
Her fellow service member, Andrew Wolfe, 24, remains hospitalized in grave state.
Gatherings across the state have been held in their remembrance.
Presidential Offer
The commander-in-chief stated he’s discussed a White House visit for the families of both soldiers of the state Guard.
“I told them: ‘When you’re prepared, because that’s a tough thing, arrive at the White House. We’re going to recognize her,” Trump told journalists. “And in the same way with him, recover or not.”
Public Support
Mourners assembled over the weekend at Webster County high school in the state to honor Sarah.
Both she and Wolfe had been serving with the state guard as part of Trump’s federal initiative to assist public safety in DC.
Honoring the Soldier
“She was the type of pupil that teachers desired. She behaved with calm resilience, a contagious smile and a upbeat demeanor that lifted people around her,” Hankins, the leader of her alma mater, told the media. “She was caring, compassionate and always eager to support those in need.”
Memorial details for Beckstrom are yet to be finalized.
Legal Steps and Government Changes

The incident led the administration to pause asylum processing and halt issuing visas to owners of passports from Afghanistan.
Status of the Airman
The airman, a resident of the city, enlisted in February 2019 and is a graduate of his local high school, according to the news agency.
He remains under medical supervision and is “fighting for his life”, West Virginia governor the governor stated on a news program.
Attorney general Bondi stated on Fox News Sunday that she also intended to speak to his relatives.
Impact of Sarah Beckstrom
