England footballer Michelle Agyemang, darts sensation Luke Littler and batswoman Davina Perrin have been named as finalists for the upcoming Young Athlete of the Year award.

The trio have been recognised for their outstanding achievements over the past 12 months.

Agyemang was instrumental as the Lionesses secure Euro 2025, Littler claimed the world title for the first time, and Perrin burst onto the scene with a record-breaking innings.

Littler won the award in 2024 after his sensational debut year.

The finalists were revealed during a live broadcast on a widely-listened-to radio show.

The champion will be revealed live on the Sports Personality of the Year show on the 18th of December.

The show will be televised from seven in the evening GMT.

The Football Star

Age: 19 Sport: Football

Only 90 days after her international debut, Agyemang played a pivotal and thrilling role in England's run to Euro 2025 glory.

She entered the fray to score vital last-gasp goals in both the quarter-final and semi-final.

Agyemang's stunning interventions led to her being named the best young player at the Euros.

Subsequently, she was awarded the prestigious Golden Girl honour for the finest emerging star on the continent.

She was also in contention for the Kopa Trophy for the global standout among U21 women.

Agyemang, who has been playing for Brighton on loan from Arsenal, suffered an ACL injury in October.

"Being nominated for this award is an honour," said Agyemang. "I thank God and I'm appreciative of the support I've received from my loved ones, mentors, colleagues and supporters."

Littler's Profile

Age: 18 Sport: Darts

Littler's 2025 began in incredible form as - aged 17 - he became the youngest darts world champion in history.

He secured a dominant victory over Michael van Gerwen in the final.

His later win at the World Matchplay made him only the fifth individual to complete the prestigious three major tournament wins.

His success continued - his triumph in November's Grand Slam of Darts meant he reached world number one for the maiden occasion.

At 18, he is the youngest man to do so, breaking the previous record.

"Earning a spot on the shortlist for this award again is a big honour," stated Littler. "My victory in 2024 was a special memory for me and I've had another unbelievable 12 months. I want to continue raising the profile of darts."

Perrin's Profile

Age: 19 Sport: Cricket

Perrin is one of English cricket's most exciting young talents and surged to prominence with an extraordinary and record-breaking innings in August.

Her brilliant 42-ball century in The Hundred is the speediest century from an England batswoman in T20s.

It also stands as the shared third-fastest women's T20 century in a top-tier competition.

Perrin finished second in the season's run tally and was named the Professional Cricketers' Association's top young women's player.

"I'm deeply humbled to be nominated for the Young Sports Star award," expressed Perrin. "This is phenomenal. I hope it inspires more young females to get into cricket."
